Foxy’s Music Fest
Saturday March 11, 2017
We’ll kick off this FREE SHOW at 5pm!
Come to Foxy’s for this FREE SHOW — an eclectic mix of local and international artists. Special guests will include vocalist Mark Rivers and saxophonist Kebbi Williams ( both members of the Grammy-award winning Blues band, Tedeschi Trucks Band), Wiliam Barnes on guitar, Kevin Scott on bass, Matt Slocum on keyboard, and Mark Raudabaugh on drums. The group’s members are all veterans of the music industry, with expansive touring careers that have spanned continents and diverse musical genres (blues, jazz, hip-hop, bluegrass, soul, rock & roll, etc).
The visiting musicians are excited to bring their tradition of musical collaboration to the stage at Foxy’s. Our visiting musicians have performed with legendary performers such as George Clinton & P-Funk, Outkast, Brandord Marsalis, John Legend, Mos Def, Snarky Puppy, and Bruce Hampton. They are excited to share the stage with local musicians such as HLSCC’s Stingrays, Dion Parsons And The Virgin Islands Youth Ensemble, and Cedar School’s Rock Band.
The event will go from 5pm to midnight on Saturday, March 11th.
Come out to help support the Foxy’s School of Music program!
“Foxy’s Music Fest” has been established to commemorate and support “Foxy’s School of Music”, an educational project that was established in 2015 with the support of BVI visitor and music philanthropist, Tony Martin. Founder of “Just Right Music”, a company that supports up-and-coming artists to launch their music careers, Mr. Martin’s life has always been influenced by music. More recently his contributions to music have taken on philanthropic hands-on role. In 2015, Mr. Martin provided a donation of numerous musical instruments to establish “Foxy’s School of Music” on Jost Van Dyke. Proceeds of the event will help to support the hiring of a music teacher for the project.
